PERRYVILLE -- Robert A. Mills, 68, of Perryville, died Sunday, June 7, 1992, at St. Anthony's Medical Center in St. Louis. He was born June 22, 1923, in Russell, Kan., son of John L. and Helen Nowak Mills. He and Marjorie Van Boren were married Aug. 25, 1945...

PERRYVILLE -- Robert A. Mills, 68, of Perryville, died Sunday, June 7, 1992, at St. Anthony's Medical Center in St. Louis.

He was born June 22, 1923, in Russell, Kan., son of John L. and Helen Nowak Mills. He and Marjorie Van Boren were married Aug. 25, 1945.

A retired auto dealer, Mills was former owner of Bierk Motor Sales. He was a charter member of Perryville National Guard, retiring in 1970 as lieutenant colonel.

Mills was a member of St. Vincent's Catholic Church, American Legion Post 133, VFW Post 4284, AmVets Post 194, Missouri Historical Society, Elks Lodge in Chester, Ill., and was past president of Perryville Jaycees. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Robert T. Mills of Perryville; five daughters, Kathleen Kimball of Flagler Beach, Fla., Barbara Hornbeak of Perryville, Maureen Mills of Carbondale, Ill., Patricia Anadkat of Mt. Carmel, Ill., Mary Schulte of Bloomington, Ind.; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchilren; two stepgrandsons, and a great-stepgranddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his father, stepfather, and a son.

Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Vincent's Church. The Rev. Edward Wilson will officiate, with burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 4-9 p.m. today, and 6:30-9:45 a.m. Wednesday. An Americal Legion wake will be held tonight at 6:40, parish wake at 7, VFW wake at 7:20, and Elks wake 7:40.
