JACKSON -- Rita Marie Steinnerd, 64, of Jackson, died Thursday, Nov. 24, 1994, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Feb. 13, 1930, at Kelso, daughter of John W. and Bertha Scherer Kirn. She and Melvin J. Steinnerd were married Dec. 27, 1950, at Leopold.
The Steinnerds moved to Jackson in 1986. She was a teacher at Oak Hills School in Neelys Landing, at Leopold R-3 Schools, and at Head Start.
Survivors include her husband; four sons, Steve and David Steinnerd of Jackson, Tim Steinnerd of Leopold, Jim Steinnerd of Arbor; five daughters, Bertha, Victoria, Sarah and Nancy Steinnerd of Jackson, Lisa Steinnerd of Whitewater; a brother, Alfred Kirn of Jackson; three sisters, Anna Campbell of Oak Ridge, Martha Wilkinson and Shirley Warren of Jackson, and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son and a brother.
Friends may call at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home after 4 p.m. Sunday. Parish prayers will be at 7, with rosary at 7:30 by Leopold and Jackson Knights of Columbus councils.
Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with Msgr. Edward Eftink officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
