Rita Kuss, 70, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013, at Georgian Gardens Nursing Center in Potosi, Mo.
She was born March 12, 1943, in Oran, Mo., to Anthony and Geneva Wagner Hulshof. She married James Kuss on March 3, 1962.
Rita was a member of St. Mary Cathedral Parish.
She is survived by her husband, James of Scott City; three daughters, Teresa (Brad Robertson) Kuss of Columbia, Mo., Linda Eggimann of Merriam, Kan., and Diana (Clyde) Warren of Scott City; two granddaughters, Jessica Warren and Deanna Girard; two grandsons, Gabriel Eggimann and Will Warren; two sisters, Barbara (Gary) Tranker of O'Fallon, Mo., and Alice (Doug) Johnson of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Gerard Hulshof of Kansas City; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Dorothy Borchelt; and a brother, John Hulshof.
Family and friends may visit from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Crain Funeral Home. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m., followed by the Knights of Columbus rosary.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Cathedral, with the Rev. Tom Kiefer as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to St. Mary Cathedral and will be accepted at the funeral home.
