ELDON, Mo. -- Rita Owen Greenwood, 85, of Eldon died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 1996, at her home.
She was born Dec. 14, 1910, in Sampsel to Wilke and Berniece Wilson Owen.
On Aug. 14, 1946, she married Herbert Greenwood in Gallatin. They farmed near Lock Springs until 1991, when they moved to Cape Girardeau. He died Nov. 2, 1992.
She earned a bachelor's of science degree in education from Central Arkansas University at Conway, Ark., and a master's of education in home economics from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She was a home economics teacher and a caseworker for the Missouri Division of Family Services prior to retirement.
Survivors are one daughter, Janet Shepard of Eldon; one sister, Lois Ream of Denver, Colo.; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
Visitation is today from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bram Funeral Home in Jamesport.
Service will be Saturday at the Lock Springs United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Lock Springs Cemetery.
