EAST PRAIRIE -- Ricky Alan Brooks, 16, of East Prairie died Nov. 14, 1992, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston as the result of an accident shooting.
He was born July 15, 1976, the son of Carroll Lee Clemmons Brooks and the late Ricky Alan Brooks Sr.
He had lived in Mississippi County all his life. He attended the First Church of God in East Prairie and was a member of the Civil Air Patrol in Charleston. He was a sophomore at East Prairie High School.
Survivors include one brother, Timothy Brooks of the home; one sister, Trina Brooks of East Prairie; two half-sisters, Rineva Brewer and Betty Brooks, both of East Prairie; paternal grandparents Clarence and Lucille Summerfield of East Prairie and R.C. Brooks of Jacksonville, Fla.; maternal grandmother Lorene Clemmons of Festus, Mo.; a great-grandmother, and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today at the Shelby Chapel with Brother Larry Smith, pastor of the First Church of God in East Prairie, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. today until the time of the funeral.
