Rick D. Laird, 58, of Jackson died Saturday, May 22, 2010, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was born March 26, 1952, in Cape Girardeau, to Richard "Dick" and Mary Deneke Laird. Rick D. Laird, 58, of Jackson died Saturday, May 22, 2010, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born March 26, 1952, in Cape Girardeau, to Richard "Dick" and Mary Deneke Laird.

He was a graduate of Jackson High School. He was a registered nurse more than 20 years, specializing in ICU care.

Survivors include a sister, MarNell Staley of Chaffee, Mo.; an uncle, David Laird of Llano, Texas; two nephews, Nicholas and Zachary Laird of Jackson; two great-nieces; and several cousins, including Lynn Lupardus of Lake Ozark, Mo., and Scott Skrob of Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his father; mother; and a brother, Randy Laird.

There will be no service.

McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson is in charge of arrangements.
