MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Richard Joseph Wubker, 78, of Marble Hill departed this life Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2022, at the Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Feb. 28, 1943, in Leopold, Missouri, the son of John Henry and Bernadine Elizabeth Stoverink Wubker. He and Anita Brands were united in marriage on Aug. 14, 1965.
Richard owned Wubker Construction Company for over 40 years. He would always make comments while traveling through a town, "Oh, I built several houses in this town."
He was a member of the National Guard, Knights of Columbus Council 5898 and St. John's Catholic Church in Leopold.
Richard loved to ride his four-wheeler on his farm each day, fish and hunt. He loved to watch Kansas City Chiefs Football and St. Louis Cardinals Baseball games. He would often talk on the phone to his friends about hunting. Most of all he loved his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Anita; sons, Dewaine M. Wubker and Brian R Wubker, both of Oran, Missouri; daughter, Tammy S. (Michael) Maloy of Perryville, Missouri; sisters, Agnes (Gerry) Vandeven of St. Louis, Rosemary Beussink of Jackson, Laverne (Sid) Steinhaeufel of St. Louis and Margaret (Larry) Dudley of Aurora, Colorado; and grandchildren, Maggie Maloy and Spencer Maloy.
Preceding Richard in death were his parents, sisters and brothers-in-law, Teresa (Fred) Holzum, Helen (Richard) Berhorst, Angela (Phillip) Beussink and Edward Beussink.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. John's Catholic Church in Leopold, St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Advance, Missouri, or Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill. Parish prayers will be at 4 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Glen Eftink and Knights of Columbus rosary at 7 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be Saturday at St. John's Catholic Church with the Revs. Glen Eftink and Antony Thekkanath officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
