Richard Clark Patterson, 65, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Aug. 3, 2015, at Saint Francis Medical Center.

He was born March 20, 1950, in Chicago to John Clark and Mamie Jordan Patterson Sr. He and Patricia Ann King were married May 23, 1983, at Benton, Missouri.

Richard was a paramedic with Cairo Ambulance Service. Later he was a CNA at Southeast Hospital and at the Missouri Veterans Home, retiring in 2013.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann Patterson of Cape Girardeau; two sons, Dawon White of Springfield, Missouri, and Christopher King of Cape Girardeau; seven daughters, Celathia Patterson (Terrance) of New Orleans, Sapphire (Mark) Bell of Virginia, Felesicia (Phil) Gonzales of Texas, Nicole, Dana, Ella and Tamara King all of Cape Girardeau.

Also nine brothers, John Jr., Otto, Ronald, Donald, Fenton, Michael, William and Andrew Patterson, all of Chicago, and Mark Patterson of Rio Rico, Arizona; eight sisters, Geraldine of Bloomington, Illinois, Sandra (Chris) of Florida, Cathy of Michigan, Janet (Richard), Ella (Russell), Yvonne (Robert), Ginger (Keith) and Dionne (Anthony), all of Chicago; and 21 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. at New Lorimier Cemetery, with Elder Athisha King officiating.

Memorials may be made to the family of Richard Patterson.
