ADVANCE, Mo. -- Clarence "Richard" Pace Jr., 68, of Advance passed away Monday, Feb. 27, 2017, at his home. He was born July 31, 1948, at Charleston, Missouri, the son of Clarence Richard Pace Sr. and Merle Annalee Spiller. Richard was a retired farmer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Vietnam War. During the war, he served as a medic and earned a Purple Heart, two Bronze Stars, an Award for Heroism and a Rifle Bar...

ADVANCE, Mo. -- Clarence "Richard" Pace Jr., 68, of Advance passed away Monday, Feb. 27, 2017, at his home.

He was born July 31, 1948, at Charleston, Missouri, the son of Clarence Richard Pace Sr. and Merle Annalee Spiller.

Richard was a retired farmer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Vietnam War. During the war, he served as a medic and earned a Purple Heart, two Bronze Stars, an Award for Heroism and a Rifle Bar.

Richard and Christina Frazer were united in marriage, and she survives.

Other survivors include three brothers, Mark Pace of Charleston, South Carolina, Greg Pace of Jackson and Stephen Pace of Benton, Illinois, and three sisters, Patricia Kelley of Bloomfield, Missouri, Mary Pace of Advance and Martha Pace of Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, with the Rev. Jack Owens officiating. There will be full military rites.

Morgan Funeral Home in Advance is in charge of arrangements.
