Richard Carl Mayberry, 76, of Scott City died Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004, at his home. He was born Aug. 30, 1927, at Bell City, Mo., son of Charlie and Sarah Blocker Mayberry. He and Etta L. Winemiller were married Oct. 3, 1955. Mayberry was employed 20 years at Foamex. He was a member, trustee and Sunday school superintendent of Clearview Baptist Church...

Richard Carl Mayberry, 76, of Scott City died Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004, at his home.

He was born Aug. 30, 1927, at Bell City, Mo., son of Charlie and Sarah Blocker Mayberry. He and Etta L. Winemiller were married Oct. 3, 1955.

Mayberry was employed 20 years at Foamex. He was a member, trustee and Sunday school superintendent of Clearview Baptist Church.

He was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Larry Mayberry of Scott City; four daughters, Laura Griffin and Linda Dinkens of Advance, Mo., Lydia Lemons and Lenae Schroeter of Scott City; 16 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City from 9 a.m. to service time Saturday.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Bruce Clubb officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery.
