Richard John Duvall, 67, of Jackson died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, at his home in Jackson.

He was born May 3, 1950. in Cape Girardeau to Trumer William and Hazel Mary Favier Duvall.

Richard served in the United States Army serving in Vietnam from 1969 to 1970 and in Germany from 1970 to 1973. He earned the rank of Specialist 5 class.

He and Brigitte Rothweiler were married April 14, 1973, in Perryville, Missouri. Richard was an Over the Road truck driver working for Gilster Mary Lee in Perryville and later for Byron Lang Trucking in Jackson. He retired in 1997 due to a disability.

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson. He also was a member of the DAV and a former member of the Perryville Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by his wife Brigitte Duvall of Jackson; two sons, Mark (Becky) Rothweiler of Benton, Missouri, Terry (Christy) Duvall of Jackson; three daughters, Nina (Corey) Sinn of Cape Girardeau, Tiffany (Jackie) Haffner of Sedgewickville, and Karen Sutton (Ray Smith) of Jackson; one brother and two sisters; 13 grandchildren, Justin and Jared Rothweiler, Hanna Bresnan, Dillon Walton, Cody, Rachel, and Megan Sinn, Devin Sutton, Kaitlynn Smith, Abigail Haffner, Shane Pair, Mackenzie and Terrance Duvall; and one great grandson, Matthew Rothweiler.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Jackson.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson with the Rev. John Harth officiating.

Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau with full military honors.

Memorial contributions may be given to The Family of Richard Duvall.

Ford & Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
