Richard C. Cossou, 79, of Gordonville died Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002, at Southeast Missouri Hospital. He was born March 21, 1923, in Bell City, Mo., son of Clyde and Phoebe Oakley Cossou. Richard C. Cossou, 79, of Gordonville died Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born March 21, 1923, in Bell City, Mo., son of Clyde and Phoebe Oakley Cossou. On Oct. 25, 1941, he married Iva McDaniel in Mesler, Mo.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Phillipines during World War II.

He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, Lakeville Lodge No. 489 AF&AM in Bell City and Teamsters Local 604. He retired from Casson's Auto Transport in 1981.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Barbara McClanahan and husband Jerry McClanahan of Cape Girardeau; two grandchildren, K. Scott and Susan Kinsey McClanahan of Cape Girardeau, R. Collin and Lisa Fluegge McClanahan of Gordonville; four great-grandchildren, Ross and Lexie McClanahan of Cape Girardeau and Troy Lee and Lauren McClanahan of Gordonville.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ford & Sons Mount Auburn Chapel. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel with the Rev. Jerry Statler officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
