CAMPBELL, Mo. -- Richard "Dick" Clifford, 55, of Paragould, Ark., died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2000, at Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould. He was born Oct. 14, 1944, at Campbell, son of Everett and Mildred Ramsey Clifford. Clifford was a newspaper reporter with Paragould Daily Press. He had also worked at Malden Press-Merit in Malden, Mo., Daily American Republic in Poplar Bluff, Mo., Piggott Times in Piggott, Ark., and Malvern Daily Record in Malvern, Ark...

CAMPBELL, Mo. -- Richard "Dick" Clifford, 55, of Paragould, Ark., died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2000, at Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould.

He was born Oct. 14, 1944, at Campbell, son of Everett and Mildred Ramsey Clifford.

Clifford was a newspaper reporter with Paragould Daily Press. He had also worked at Malden Press-Merit in Malden, Mo., Daily American Republic in Poplar Bluff, Mo., Piggott Times in Piggott, Ark., and Malvern Daily Record in Malvern, Ark.

He was a member of Campbell Methodist Church and Arkansas Press Association.

Clifford received a degree in journalism from Arkansas State University. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors include two brothers, Louis Clifford of Springdale, Ark., and Patrick Clifford of Cape Girardeau.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call at Landess Funeral Home in Campbell from 6-9 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ruth Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
