ANNA, Ill. -- Richard Caraker, 69, of Anna died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001, at Union County Hospital. He was born Dec. 9, 1931, in Anna, son of Phillip and Lona Russell Caraker. ANNA, Ill. -- Richard Caraker, 69, of Anna died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001, at Union County Hospital.

He was born Dec. 9, 1931, in Anna, son of Phillip and Lona Russell Caraker. He and Gayle Lirely were married June 17, 1954.

Caraker was a brakeman with Illinois Central Railroad from 1950-91. He was a member of Anna United Methodist Church.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Diana Taylor of Harrisburg, Ill., Ginger Caraker of Anna; two sons, Kevin Caraker of Indianapolis, Ind., Keith Caraker of Carbondale, Ill.; a sister, Lois Blessing of Anna; a brother, Marvin Caraker of Cobden, Ill.; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Anna from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Sidney Davis officiating. Burial will be in Ebenezer Hall Cemetery.
