SIKESTON, Mo. -- Richard Land "Rick" Brandom, 70, of Sikeston died Wednesday, June 11, 2003, at his home.
He was born May 3, 1933, in Kansas City, son of Thomas Martin and Mary Doak Smithpeter Brandom. He and Ellen Campbell Hutter were married July 27, 1968, in Quincy, Ill.
Brandom received a bachelor of arts degree from William Jewell College at Liberty, Mo., master's in business administration at Washington University in St. Louis, and doctorate from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Birmingham, Ala.
He was a local businessman since 1972, owning and operating Hutter Oil Co. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Missouri Oil Jobbers Association, Petroleum Marketers of America, and National Association of Convenience Stores.
Brandom served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mary Brandom of Quincy; a son, Mark Brandom of St. Louis; and a sister, Jane Heilbron of Overland Park, Kan.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Friends may call at First United Methodist Church from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Revs. Bill Koch and Sandra Schaller officiating. Entombment will be Monday at Ebenezer Cemetery in Carrollton, Mo.
