SIKESTON, Mo. -- Richard L. "Rich" Wrather, 55, of Sikeston died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2004, at Southeast Missouri Hospital at Cape Girardeau.
He was born Oct. 30, 1948, at Cape Girardeau, son of Earlin "Dude" and Billie Sue Burnett Wrather Sharp. He and Joanie Wibbenmeyer were married Jan. 8, 1972, at Sikeston.
Wrather was owner of Media Consultants Inc. He was past president of the board of Sikeston Jaycees and past president and member of the board of directors of the Sikeston Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and served as the first president of the "Parents Teachers and Friends" for St. Francis School. He was a member of the Rotary Club and a past member of the Kenny Rogers Children Center Board of Directors.
Survivors include his mother, Billy Sue Sharp of Catron, Mo.; his wife; two sons, Rick Wrather of Catron and Ben Wrather of Sikeston; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, his stepfather and a brother.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Nunnlee Funeral Chapel.
The funeral will be Tuesday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
