JACKSON -- Rhoda Amanda Allen, 90, of Jackson, died Saturday, Aug. 31, 1996, at the Lutheran Home in Jackson.
She was born Aug. 20, 1906, in Bollinger County, daughter of Henry and Tavie Seabaugh Johnson. She and Ray Allen were married on Sept. 16, 1923. He died Aug. 24, 1966.
Allen was a homemaker and a member of Emanuel United Church of Christ in Jackson.
Survivors include five sons, James Allen of Brookport, Ill., Milford Allen of Cape Girardeau, Darrell Allen of National City, Mich., Larry Allen of Jackson and Michael Allen of Imperial; two daughters, Maxine Maevers of Egypt Mills and Ruth Aufdenburg of Jackson; a sister Isabelle Conrad of Jackson; 18 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild.
In addition to her husband, Allen was preceded in death by a son, brother, two sisters and two grandchildren.
Friends may call Monday from 4-8 p.m. at Emanuel United Church of Christ. Family will visit Monday at 3:30 p.m.
Funeral service will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral chapel. The Rev. Sam Roethemeyer will officiate, with burial in Russell Heights.
