CHAFFEE, Mo. -- The funeral for Reva I. Hood of Chaffee will be held at 10 a.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. The Rev. James Fields will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley, Mo.
Friends may call at the chapel after 9 a.m.
Hood, 88, died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2003, at Clearview Nursing Center in Sikeston, Mo.
She was born March 25, 1914, at Grandin, Mo., daughter of Joseph and Minnie Myrick McDowell. She and Bert Hood were married July 25, 1931. He died Nov. 29, 1988.
Hood formerly owned and operated Hood's Sewing Center. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include five grandchildren, Susan Huddleston, Cheryl Latshaw, Joseph Hood Jr., Valeda Learue, all of Sikeston, Robin Tarasevic of Gosnell, Ark.; 14 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, two brothers, and four sisters.
