BERTRAND -- Funeral service for the Rev. Mickey Joe Vinson of Bertrand will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. The Rev. Frank Bippus will officiate, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. today.

Vinson, 50, died Monday, Jan. 13, 1997, at his home.

He was born Aug. 28, 1946, at Wyatt, son of Joseph William and Virginia Ellen Brumley Vinson. He and Carolyn Sue Hayden were married Feb. 13, 1964. She died Dec. 8, 1995.

Vinson lived most of his life in Bloomington, Ill., but had lived the past six years in Scott and Mississippi counties. He was an ordained minister in the Church of God and the Faith Fellowship Ministries, and had pastored at Vanduser Church of God.

Survivors include three sons, Phil Vinson of Clinton, Ill., Tim and Chris Vinson of Bertrand; his father of Charleston; three brothers, Gary Vinson or Urbana, Rusty Vinson of Normal, Ill., Dan Vinson of Centerville, Ohio; a sister, Ginger Gammons of Sikeston; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother and two sons.
