Funeral service for the Rev. John Langston of Hayti was held Monday at Dry Bayou Baptist Church near Hayti. The Revs. Johnny Newton and Bill Baldwin officiated, with burial in Dry Bayou Cemetery.
John W. German Funeral Home of Hayti was in charge of arrangements.
Langston, 70, died Thursday, Jan. 14, 1993, at his home.
He was born June 10, 1922, in Wooster, Ark., son of Alby and Edna Williams Langston. He and Amy Clinton were married Jan. 13, 1948.
Langston was a veteran of the U.S. military, and member of Masonic Lodge in Hayti.
Survivors include his wife; a son, John Langston of Pasadena, Texas; a stepdaughter, Amy Burns of Sikeston; three brothers, Ray Langston of Cape Girardeau, Amon Langston of Odessa, Texas, Ozrow Langston of Aurora, Ill.; a sister, Ila Morgan of Odessa; six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
