CHAFFEE, Mo. -- The Rev. Jack Bishop, 82, of Chaffee passed away Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born June 26, 1930, at Neelys Landing to Archie Lee and Margaret Rose Bullard Bishop. He married Kathy Weddle July 10, 1955, in Amity, Ind.

Jack served in the ministry for 58 years, pastoring several churches in Missouri, Arkansas and Indiana, after he served in the United States Air Force. He was a Mason for more than 50 years, and currently a member of Chaffee Masonic Lodge AF&AM 615. His home church was New Bethel Baptist Church near Pocahontas. He was a pastor and member of Calvary Baptist Church in Chaffee.

Survivors include his wife of the home; a daughter, Cindy Harris of Benton, Mo.; a son, Robert (Lesa) Bishop of Bunker, Mo.; a grandson, Zachary Harris of Benton; a granddaughter, Faith Bishop of Bunker; a brother, the Rev. Delbert (Marjorie) Bishop of Oran, Mo.; two sisters, Sharon McCullough and LaDora (Richard) Sides of Jackson; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Lyle Bishop.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Calvary Baptist Church, and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at New Bethel Church.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at New Bethel Church, with the Rev. Ted Wimberly officiating. Burial will be in New Bethel Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Calvary Baptist Church in Chaffee.
