PERRYVILLE -- The Rev. Glennon T. Unterreiner, 82, died Saturday, June 26, 1999, at Mother of Good Councel Home in St. Louis. He was born June 2, 1917, at Perryville, son of Henry J. and Mary Katherine Schrempp Unterreiner. Unterreiner was a graduate of St. Vincent de Paul High School and entered St. Louis Preparatory Seminary in 1939. He was ordained into the priesthood by then Archbishop Joseph Elmer Ritter Dec. 21, 1946...

PERRYVILLE -- The Rev. Glennon T. Unterreiner, 82, died Saturday, June 26, 1999, at Mother of Good Councel Home in St. Louis.

He was born June 2, 1917, at Perryville, son of Henry J. and Mary Katherine Schrempp Unterreiner.

Unterreiner was a graduate of St. Vincent de Paul High School and entered St. Louis Preparatory Seminary in 1939. He was ordained into the priesthood by then Archbishop Joseph Elmer Ritter Dec. 21, 1946.

From January 1947 to May 1963 he served as assistant pastor at the following parishes: Immaculate Conception in Desloge, St. Aloysius in St. Louis, Ste. Genevieve, and Our Lady of Perpetual Help in North St. Louis.

He served as pastor of St. John the Baptist Parish in Gildehaus from May 1963 until being assigned to St. Stephen Parish at Richwoods in June 1983. He retired from active ministry June 20, 1992.

Survivors include two sisters, Wiltrudis Hoffman of East Moline, Ill., and Erline Hoffman of Moline, Ill.

He was preceded in death by three sisters and seven brothers.

Friends may call at Miller Family Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. Friday, and Saturday from 6:30-10:50 a.m. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m. Friday, and the rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with Archbishop Justin R. Rigali and the Rev. Charles Ruff officiating. Burial will be in St. Boniface Cemetery.
