Funeral service for the Rev. Earl W. Cox, 628 Red Bud Circle, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel. Pastor Jack Cathcart and the Revs. Paul House and Paul Wood will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-9 p.m. today.
Cox, 72, died Monday, Sept. 13, 1993, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born June 14, 1921, at Gordonville, son of John and Bertha Hager Cox. He and Sylvia Allen were married Sept. 21, 1945, in Cape Girardeau.
Cox has been pastor of Word of Faith Fellowship Church 25 years, and has been district presbyter with Full Gospel Churches International about eight years. He was an Assembly of God pastor 20 years. Cox founded an area ministers fellowship group that meets weekly.
He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Earlene Hahs of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Eugene Cox of Kelso; a half brother, John Cox Jr. of Sorrento, Fla.; two half sisters, Lorene Powell of Winter Garden, Fla., Fay Nuckoles of Ocoee, Fla., and twin grandsons.
