PERRYVILLE -- The Rev. David John Otto Loesch, 86, of Perryville, died Monday, Feb. 12, 1996, at Perry Oaks Healthcare.

He was born May 13, 1909, in Jefferson City, son of William and Nannie Beck Loesch. He and Alice Amelia Koeppel were married June 27, 1934, in Cape Girardeau.

Loesch was a minister 48 years with the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. His first parish and teaching assignment was at Trinity Lutheran Church and School in Egypt Mills. He also served parishes at Meta, Holts Summit, Cole Camp, Waverly and Houston, Mo.; Wecota, Cresbard, Wolsey, Wessington, Spencer and Montrose, S.D.

He taught school in several locations in Missouri, and was youth counselor for the South Dakota District while pastoring in Wolsey. Loesch served in many church and community organizations, including Civil Defense director while in Waverly.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Rev. Donald Loesch of Perryville, Ivan Loesch of Huron, S.D., Rev. Keith Loesch of Woodbridge, Va., Royce Loesch of Pierre, S.D.; a foster son, Lester Hortter of West Palm Beach, Fla.; 10 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Church in Egypt Mills, with the Revs. Mark Martin and James Kalthoff officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. today, and Thursday from 6:30-8 a.m., and then at the church from 9:30 a.m. to service time.
