THEBES, Ill. -- Funeral for the Rev. Cloy Myers of Thebes will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms. The Rev. Curtis Alderson will officiate, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery at Thebes.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. today.
Myers, 91, died Thursday, Jan. 14, 1999, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
He was born Aug. 13, 1907, at Ironton, Mo., son of Henry and Mary Webb Myers. He and Susie Light were married Jan. 15, 1943. She died Oct. 12, 1998.
Myers had served as pastor of Alexander Free Will Baptist Church and as supply pastor at several Free Will Baptist churches in Southern Illinois.
He had also worked for C&EI and IC Railroad, Bruce's Hardwood, and Alexander County Highway Department.
Myers was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church in Olive Branch.
Survivors include two daughters, Georgette Norris of Thebes, Loretta Wilson of Tomball, Texas; four sons, Edgar White of Cape Girardeau, Bob White and the Rev. David Myers of Thebes, Dan White of Olive Branch; a brother, Gilbert Myers of Orange, Texas; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, a brother, and a grandson.
