MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- The Rev. Buford B. Rhodes, 63, of Marble Hill died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Nov. 8, 1939, at Lutesville, Mo., son of the Rev. Milas and Lunda Rhodes. After his mother's death he was raised by an uncle and aunt, Silas and Delphia Rhodes.
Rhodes was a Baptist minister and had been a bus driver for Meadow Heights School District at Patton, Mo. He was a member of Hurricane Fork General Baptist Church near Marble Hill.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Massey of Marble Hill, Lunda Morris of Fredericktown, Mo.; three brothers, the Rev. Charles Rhodes of Neosho, Mo., the Rev. Luther Rhodes and Wilburn Proffer of Jackson; four sisters, Ruby Umfleet of Piedmont, Mo., Kay Osborn and the Rev. Opal Eaker of Cape Girardeau, Ada Cosma of Moscow Mills, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, and three brothers.
Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Patton from 5 to 8 p.m. today, and Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. at Hurricane Fork Church.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Revs. John Rhodes, Kenny Cook and Micah Bristow officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
