PERRYVILLE -- The Rev. J. Bernard FitzGerald, 85, of Perryville died Wednesday, April 23, 1997, at Perry County Memorial Hospital. He was born July 15, 1911, in Kankakee, Ill., son of John Bernard and Kathryn Feeley FitzGerald. FitzGerald attended St. Mary's of the Barrens Seminary and was ordained in 1939. He taught at DePaul Academy and University in Chicago from 1939 until retiring in 1993...

PERRYVILLE -- The Rev. J. Bernard FitzGerald, 85, of Perryville died Wednesday, April 23, 1997, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.

He was born July 15, 1911, in Kankakee, Ill., son of John Bernard and Kathryn Feeley FitzGerald.

FitzGerald attended St. Mary's of the Barrens Seminary and was ordained in 1939. He taught at DePaul Academy and University in Chicago from 1939 until retiring in 1993.

Survivors include a nephew and two nieces.

Friends may call at St. Mary's of the Barrens Catholic Church from 5-8:30 p.m. today, and Friday from 8-10:30 a.m. The rosary will be at 7:30 tonight.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's, with the Rev. William Hartenbach officiating. Burial will be in the Vincentian Cemetery.

Young and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
