Funeral service for the Rev. Alfred C. Wilder of St. Louis, formerly of Cape Girardeau, was held Aug. 22 at Grace Lutheran Chapel in St. Louis. Burial was in Our Redeemer Cemetery there. He was born Feb. 3, 1900, in Bremen, Ind., son of the Rev. August and Fredericka Schorr Wilder. He and Elsa Schawacker were married in 1925.

Wilder came to Cape Girardeau in 1906 when his father became pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church. He graduated from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis in 1924. He served churches in Alabama, Indiana and Louisiana, and was Lutheran Institutional Chaplain in Denver, Colo., until retiring and moving to St. Louis.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Daniel Wilder of Atlanta, Ga., Allen Wilder of Washington, D.C.; a daughter, Rose Schneider of St. Louis; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two nephews and a niece, Edward and Kenneth Bender, and Louise Roth, all of Cape Girardeau.
