Retha Louise Popp, 85, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Nov. 28, 2022, at Lutheran Home.

She was born June 22, 1937, in Greenwood, Indiana, to Ruben and Lucy Reynolds Whittaker. She and Edward "Ebby" Popp were married Feb. 22, 1958, at Monrovia, California.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a member and past president of VFW Ladies Auxiliary and past president of Eagles Ladies Auxiliary. She was a past member of Trinity Lutheran Ladies Guild. She worked at SoutheastHEALTH in the radiology department for more than 10 years. She worked for Florsheim Shoe for more than 20 years. She was inducted into Missouri State Lady Eagles Hall of Fame.

Survivors include two daughters, Roxanna Weber of Altenburg, Missouri, and Diane Popp of Cape Girardeau; two sons, David Popp of Cape Girardeau and Roger (Robyn Farrar) Popp of Jackson; six grandchildren, Michael Weber, Dustin Popp, Derek Voelker and Casey, Maria and Kirsten Popp; six great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Caleb, Dakota, Kelcee, Konnor and Jase; and one great-great-granddaughter, Lydia Rose.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Gary W. Popp; daughter-in-law, Monica Popp; son-in-law, Stanley Weber; two grandchildren, Eric Popp and Ashley Weber; two brothers; and five sisters.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., with VFW Ladies Auxiliary service conducted at 7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 1, at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 2, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Doug Briete officiating. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Memorial contributions may be given to Living Hope or Saxony Lutheran High School.
