Reta Ashworth

THEBES, Ill. -- Reta Louise Vaughn Ashworth, 68, of Thebes died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2002, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Nov. 30, 1934, in Alexander County, Ill., the daughter of George and Ida Poole Vaughn. She married Calvin Ashworth Sr. He preceded her in death.

She was a nurse assistant and former employee of Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She is survived by three sons, Rick Edwards of Merom, Ind., Terry Edwards of Orange City, Fla., and Clifford Edwards of Thebes; a sister, Gwen Peyton of Carbondale, Ill.; and seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.

Visitation will be after 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Jones Funeral Home in Tamms, Ill.

A memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Carl Fisher officiating.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Richwood Cemetery in rural Tamms.
