Raymond Otto Bodenschatz, 71, of 2628 Marvin St., Cape Girardeau, died Saturday, May 23, 1992, at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 28, 1920, in New Wells, to Otto and Josephine Frenger Bodenschatz. He worked for Florsheim Shoe Co., retiring in 1983. He had previously worked for Central Packing Co. for 17 years.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the army.
On June 18, 1944, he married the former Alma Palisch in Altenburg.
He was a member of the St. Andrew Lutheran Church, the Trinity Lutheran Church Men's Club, Trinity Retired Club, the Colonial Senior Citizens Club and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3838. He was past president of Fort D Senior Citizens.
Survivors include wife; one daughter, Barbara J. Sander of Cape Girardeau; and one sister, Frieda Lorenz of Cape Girardeau; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by one brother.
The funeral will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel, with the Rev. Louis Launhardt and the Rev. Barry Pfanstiel officiating. Internment will be in Memorial Park.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Monday from noon until the time of service.
