Charles Raymond Morgan, 82, of Landrum, S.C., widower of Faye Elizabeth "Betty" Dill Morgan, died Wednesday, March 13, 2002, at Greenville Memorial Medical Center in Greenville, S.C.
A native of Greenville County, S.C., he was the son of the late Willie and Isabelle Davis Morgan.
He was a member of Highland Baptist Church, retired employee of Renfrew Mills, and worked many years at Southern Bleachery.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Linda M. and Stephen Chapman of Cape Girardeau; a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Jane Morgan of Landrum; five granddaughters, Amy Leona, Catherine Elizabeth "Beth," and Virginia Frances "Ginny" Chapman, Grayson Marpes and Mariah Beach; and two great-grandsons, Andrew and Thomas Marpes.
Mr. Morgan was preceded in death by two brothers, Gates Morgan and States Morgan; four sisters, Gladys Staton, Atlas Middleton, Agnes M. Morgan and Willie Mae Lindsey.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. today at The Wood Mortuary in Greer, S.C.
The family will be at 211 Windsor Road in Greer.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Highland Baptist Church in Taylors, S.C. The Revs. Mitchell Thomas and Martin Atkins will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
