MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- James Raymond LaFaire, 88, of Marble Hill died Sunday, July 18, 2004, at his home.
He was born Jan. 19, 1916, in Chicago, son of Frank and Margret Keenan LaFaire. He first married Helen M. Cummings Aug. 11, 1937. She died Oct. 3, 1980. He and Bernice Douglas Greer were married Aug. 30, 1991.
LaFaire had been a yard foreman with Chicago Transit Authority.
Survivors include three sons, Keith LaFaire of London, Ky., Gerald LaFaire of O'Fallon, Mo., Kurt LaFaire of Marble Hill; a daughter, Sharon Wishner of Marble Hill; two stepdaughters, Tammy Pitts of Marble Hill, Marsha Haney of Tampa, Fla.; three stepsons, Donald Jr., Mark and Johnny Greer, all of Marble Hill; a brother, Bob LaFaire of Chicago; a sister, June Wilfurs of Chicago; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, three brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at Hutchings Funeral Chapel from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Bill Huggins officiating. Burial will be in Baker Cemetery.
