EAST PRAIRIE -- Funeral service for Raymond James Redfering, East Prairie Route 1, will be held at 2 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Chapel here. The Rev. Raymond Hannah will officiate, with burial in Dogwood Cemetery near here.

Redfering, 75, died Monday, July 1, 1991, at Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

He was born Dec. 24, 1915, in New Madrid County, son of William B. and Annie D. Banks Redfering. He and V. Christine Blyzes were married Oct. 3, 1936.

Redfering was a retired farmer and construction worker. He was a member of St. James General Baptist Church here, and Laborers Local 282 in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Raymond Redfering of Monroe City, Ronald Redfering of O'Fallon, Jerry Redfering of East Prairie; a brother, Clyde Redfering of East Prairie; 10 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Danny; a grandson, Randal; two sisters and five brothers.
