ORAN, Mo. -- Raymond Guzman, 68, of Oran passed away Sunday, May 5, 2019, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Jan. 23, 1951, in San Antonio to the late Cercencia and Ysidra Garcia Guzman. He married Sara Irene Hanks on July 10, 1970, and she preceded him in death Dec. 9, 2014.
Raymond was a self-employed carpet installer for more than 20 years. He then worked at Lowes in Cape Girardeau for 10 years before retiring in 2015. He was a member of Faith Family Church in Painton, Missouri. He served in U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Raymond enjoyed sharing his faith through song at church.
He is survived by a son, Tracy (Becky) Guzman of Oran; a daughter, Leslie (David) Jones of Oran; and five grandchildren, Coltin Karr, Brandy Guzman, Shaunnah Polley, Nathaniel and Tessah Jones.
He was also preceded in death by five brothers and eight sisters.
Friends may call after 9 a.m. until time of service Friday at Faith Family Church in Painton.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Don Jollif as officiant. Burial will be at William Cemetery in Perkins, Missouri, with full military honors.
