Raymond Fisher

DONGOLA, Ill. — Raymond Gene Fisher, 72, of Dongola died Monday, Dec. 1, 2008, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Sept. 20, 1936, in Dongola, son of Audie and Jean Fisher. He and Barbara Landis were married in 1957.

Fisher was a member of First Baptist Church of Dongola and Operating Engineers Local 318 in Harrisburg, Ill.

He served eight years in the U. S. Navy Reserve.

The Fishers owned Fisher's Florist and Greenhouses in Dongola 14 years.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Donna Taylor of Anna, Ill.; a son, Rob Fisher of Dongola; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and a great-stepgrandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will gather from 1 to 2 p.m. today at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola.

Graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Friendship Cemetery, with the Rev. Paul Sadler officiating.
