Raymond C. Brewington, 63, of Millersville died Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at his home, after a courageous battle with liver cancer.
He was born Oct. 4, 1950, in Cape Girardeau, to Watis R. and Mary H. Snider Harrell. He and Karen Ann Hauth were married Aug. 6, 2005, in Cape Girardeau.
Raymond was a Boy Scout leader many years. He worked for True Value Co. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Cape Girardeau, served as assistant ward clerk and the ward employment specialist at the church. He enjoyed camping.
Survivors include his father, Watis R. Harrell; wife, Karen Ann Brewington of Millersville; a son, David C. Brewington of Wylie, Texas; two daughters, Pamela L. Carter of Elkhart, Indiana, and Rebecca M. Bingham of Twin Falls, Idaho; a brother, John F. Brewington of Sarasota, Florida; a sister, Sandra L. Mauer of Mount Vernon, Illinois; 15 grandchildren; a great grandchild; a stepson, Jason D. Reeds of Orange-ville, Illinois; and a stepdaughter, Abigail R. Reeds of Cape Girardeau.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1048 W. Cape Rock Drive in Cape Girardeau.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, with Bishop Dennis Mouser officiating. Burial will be in Brownwood Cemetery in Advance, Missouri.
Pallbearers will be his "main man," Dionte Reeds, John Brewington, David Brewington, Richard Bingham, Fred Mauer and Jason Reeds.
Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau is in charge of arrangements.
