PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Ray F. "Dutch" Pourney, 79, of Perryville died Sunday, March 21, 2004, at the Perry County Nursing Home.
He was born July 26, 1924, in Perry County, son of Francis and Effie Gibbar Pourney. He and Hallie Boxdorfer were married Oct. 19, 1946.
Pourney was a heavy equipment operator for the city of Perryville, the Perryville chief of police from 1968 to 1982 and the owner and operator of the Park Et Restaurant. He was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 133 and VFW Post 4282.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Donna King of Perryville; a brother, Zexia Pourney of Perryville; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 6:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Young and Sons Chapel.
Funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Craig Otto officiating. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
