CAIRO, Ill. -- Ray L. Coonrod, 48, of Cairo, died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 1991, at his home.

He was born July 30, 1943, at Mound City, son of Charles and Evelyn Coonrod.

Coonrod was retired from First Bank and Trust Co. here, member of Cairo Elks Lodge 651, and veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.

Survivors include a daughter, Stacey Thomas of Cairo; two sisters, Laverne Phillips of West Palm Beach, Fla., Ann McFeely of Las Vegas, Nev.; three brothers, Jimmy Coonrod of Greenview, Larry Coonrod of Missouri, and Dub Lynn of Conway, Ark.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna, on Sept. 8, 1968, and by his parents.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Barkett Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Kenneth Provines will officiate, with burial in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Thursday. An Elks service will be held at 7:30.
