ZALMA, Mo. -- Ray A. Gramlisch, 77, of Zalma died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2001, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Sept. 3, 1924, at Chaffee, Mo., son of John and Annie Sadler Gramlisch. He and Lora Jones were married Feb. 9, 1946, at St. Louis.
Gramlisch worked as a bricklayer for 61 years. He attended the Assembly of God Church in Greenbrier, Mo.
He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army in the Battle of the Bulge. He received four Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Danny Gramlisch of Advance, Mo.; four daughters, Lola Howard of Advance, Glenda and Carolyn Lesch, both of Delta, Mo., and Mary Lou Gramlisch of Zalma; three brothers, John and Lester Gramlisch, both of Chaffee, and Bill Gramlisch of Delta; four sisters, Dorothy Menz and Edna Crowden, both of Chaffee, Emma Hanlon of Delta and Mary Ann Stoffregan of Advance; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, a daughter and a brother.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Rev. James Johns officiating. Burial will be at Morgan Memorial Park.
