Ray D. Donner, 72, of Jackson passed away Monday, April 29, 2013, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Feb. 9, 1941, in Manila, Ark., son of Raymond and Laura Runyon Donner. He and Sheryl Ann Ramage were married Oct. 9, 1962, in Holcomb, Mo. She passed away Sept. 23, 2011.

Ray enlisted in the Missouri Army National Guard in 1960. After a 42-year career, he retired and received an honorable discharge in 2002 with a rank of chief warrant officer 5.

Loving survivors include three sons, Eddie Donner of Jackson, Ronnie (Juanita) Donner of Cape Girardeau and Keith (Heather) Donner of Whitewater; a daughter, Kim (Jeff) Orton of Phoenix; nine grandchildren, Brandon, Erin, Greg and wife Sara, Kamren, Jamie, Taylor, Madison, Kaden and Tyler; three great-grandchildren, Christina, Natalie and Carson; two sisters, Angie Donner and Vicki Bingeman of Piggott, Ark.; and a brother, David (Gayla) Donner of Piggott.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mona Yancy and Peggy Donner; and a brother, Mackie Donner.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Grant Gillard officiating. Interment will be in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield, with full military honors.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to the Missouri Veterans Home.
