CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Ray Cook, 73, of Chaffee passed away Friday, Dec. 1, 2017, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Feb. 27, 1944, in Whitewater, son Roy W. and Stella Avis Hartman Cook. Ray married Betty Thompson McIntosh on July 11, 1992.

Ray was a graduate of Delta High School. He worked several years at the former Macke Feed near Gordonville, eventually purchasing and renaming it Cook's Feed Service. He later worked in maintenance at the former Foamex Co. in Cape Girardeau, now known as Leggett & Platt Inc., retiring in 1995.

Ray was a member of Allenville First Baptist Church.

Loving survivors include his wife, Betty, of 25 years; two children, Dena (Steve) Milz of Chaffee and Jeff Cook of Cape Girardeau; a stepson, Kevin (Ava) McIntosh of Springfield, Missouri; three grandchildren, Garrett Warren, Carlie Milz and Jordan Cook; one great-grandchild, Cayden Warren; five brothers, W.D. (Debbie) Cook and Larry (Janet) Cook, both of Chaffee, Glen (Mary Ellen) Cook of Cape Girardeau, Bill Cook of Delta and Rick (Vicky) Cook of Whitewater; four sisters, Mary (Von) Ridings of Cape Girardeau, Linda (Don) Rodgers of Gordonville, Brenda Leimbach and Peggy (Mark) Culbertson of Fruitland; and former sister-in-law Janet (Terry) Wessel of Chaffee.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jim Cook; and two brothers-in-law, Dale Crites and Rusby Leimbach.

In keeping with his request, there will be no service.

The family suggests contributions be made to the Allenville First Baptist Church.
