William "Randy" Bartlett, 61, of Cape Girardeau passed away Monday, May 19, 2014, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.
He was born Aug. 8, 1952, in Hayti, Missouri, to William "Howard" and Bonnie Bartlett. He married his high school sweetheart, Susan R. Mayer, Aug. 19, 1973, at Dexter, Missouri.
Randy adored his children and grandchildren, fishing, beachcombing in Oregon, watching/feeding birds, cheeseburgers, grocery shopping, and TV -- with a particular fondness of courtroom dramas (think Judge Judy and Perry Mason).
He spent his career, which spanned 40 years, at Sears. He was an avid volunteer in his community, with both service and leadership in the Cape Girardeau Evening Lions Club, Big Brothers Big Sisters and La Croix Methodist Church. He also sponsored a child through World Vision.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Bartlett of Cape Girardeau; his mother, Bonnie Bartlett of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Leigh (Dave) Havelick of Portland, Oregon; a son, Robb (Amanda) Bartlett of Cape Girardeau; and four grandchildren, Abe, Gus, Ben and Addison.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Cape Girardeau Evening Lions Club, Melaina's Magical Playland or The Reign Forest of La Croix Methodist Church.
