Ralph "Chub" Menees, 82, of Scott City died Sunday, April 10, 2005, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born May 30, 1922, at Illmo, son of Elza E. and Elberta Mae Watkins Simmons Menees. He and Margaret K. Alt were married May 30,1962, at High Ridge, Mo.
Menees was a claims clerk with Cotton Belt Railroad. He was a member of Civilian Conservation Corps.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife of High Ridge; seven sons, Edward and Ralph Menees of High Ridge, Brian Menees of Olathe, Kan., Jerry Menees of Potosi, Mo., Robin Roberts of Oregon, Larry Pelts of Eureka, Mo., Robert Werntz of High Ridge; two daughters, Linda Menees of Cedar Hill, Mo., Pat Martin of Pampa, Texas; two brothers, Ray Menees of Troy, Mo., Jim Menees of Scott City; a sister, Dorothy Raines of Scott City; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Bob McNabb officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery, with graveside rites by Missouri Funeral Honors Program.
