LEOPOLD, Mo. -- Ralph R. Macke, fortified with the Sacraments of the Holy Mother Church on April 24, 2018, at his home, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 65.
He was born May 13, 1952, in Cape Girardeau, son of Lawrence and Clara "Jansen" Macke. He and Janie Deck Macke were united in marriage Aug. 12, 2000.
Wednesdays, Ralph enjoyed playing euchre with his friends at the well-known Cross Creek, and Sundays, eating breakfast with his mom. It was not uncommon to see Ralph on the tractor baling hay, being on the dozer or excavator, doing what he loved. What he loved the most was Jesus and his family. Ralph was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Leopold and honorary Knights of Columbus member.
Survivors include his loving wife, Janie Macke of the home; mother, Clara Jansen Macke of Leopold; daughter, Shawne Holmes of Cape Girardeau; son, Justin (Sophie) Mackey of Pittsburgh; grandchildren, Jacob Macke, James Mackey and Token Brown; sisters, Jeanne (Roy) Greene, Marilyn (Mike) Jansen, Monica Macke and Pauline Macke; brother, Gerard (Eleanor) Macke; father in-law, Jacob Deck; brothers in-law, Jacob (Jodie) Deck, Joey (Polly) Deck, Jeff (Patty) Deck and Johnathan (Becky) Deck; sister in-law, Janet (Anthony) Jansen; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceding him in death is his father, Lawrence Macke; brother, Harold Macke; mother in-law, Doris Deck; and granddaughter. Jessica Jones.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, Missouri, with parish prayers at 7 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John Catholic Church in Leopold, with the Rev. Paco Gordillo officiating. Interment will take place in the Glen Allen Cemetery, near Marble Hill.
