Funeral service for Ralph Edward Johnson, 513 Amethyst, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel. Msgr. Richard Rolwing will officiate, with burial in Fairmount Cemetery.
Friends may call at the chapel from 7-9 p.m. Friday.
Johnson, 89, died Monday, May 6, 1996, at Marion VA Hospital in Marion, Ill.
He was born March 11, 1907, in Cape Girardeau, son of William and Mary Johnson. He and Irene Abernathy were married in 1933. She died in 1980.
Johnson was a construction worker with the Teamsters and Labor Unions. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include three sons, Ralph Johnson Jr. of Streator, Ill., Walter Johnson of Holly Grove, Ark., Benjamin Johnson of Cape Girardeau; 26 grandchildren, and 34 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four sons, two daughters, three brothers and three sisters.
