SCOTT CITY -- Ralph Anderson Gulley, 68, of Scott City died Thursday, July 3, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Aug. 6, 1928, at Illmo, the son of Theodore and Opal A. Rubel Gulley.
Gulley first married LaVerne Zimmerman on June 14, 1947, at Benton. She died Jan. 23, 1992. He then married Jessie Mae Campbell Blattel on June 5, 1992, at Scott City. She survives.
He was a heavy equipment operator for West Lake Quarry at Scott City. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II. He was a member of the Assembly of God faith and belonged to Teamsters Local 574.
He is survived by a son, Jerome T. Gulley of Scott City; two stepsons, Jack Blattel of Bonneay, S.C., and George Blattel of Marble Hill; two daughters, Diane Stephens and Jo Ellen Whitworth, both of Scott City; three stepdaughters, Mary Wulff of Columbia, Martha Glastetter of Benton and Margaret Gilbert of Ellisville; a brother, Melvin Gulley of Cahokia, Ill.; three sisters, Olga Lance and Delores "Kit" Stull, both of Scott City and Velma Sargant of St. Louis; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and 10 step-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Amick-Burnett Chapel in Scott City, with the Rev. Randy Cartwright officiating. Burial will be at Lightner Memorial Cemetery in Scott City. Visitation will be today at 4 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
