JACKSON, Mo. -- Ralph Golden, 81, died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2000, at Jackson Manor Nursing Home.
He was born May 19, 1919, at Grand Tower, Ill., son of Lewis "Tex" and Hattie Smith Golden. He and Mattie McClard were married July 27, 1945. She died Jan. 9, 1969. He and Mildred Ruehling Talley were married March 13, 1971. She died Nov. 24, 1987.
Golden was a timber worker and also worked at Kasten Brickyard until retiring in 1985. He formerly attended New Bethel Baptist Church.
Golden served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include a son, Jerry Golden of Jackson; three sisters, Wanda Weibrecht of Crosstown, Mo., Wilma Nunn of Cape Girardeau, Winnie Stone of Millersville, Mo.; three grandchildren; and three stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, a sister, and a stepgrandson.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. The Rev. John Rhodes will officiate. Burial will be in New Bethel Baptist Cemetery.
