COBDEN, Ill. -- Ralph E. Draper, 73, of Cobden died Monday, June 29, 1998, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale. He was born Aug. 28, 1924, at Delta, son of Guy and Carmen Moore Draper. He and Dorothy Trexler were married July 1, 1944. Draper was owner of Draper's Produce. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Cobden American Legion Post 259, Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455 in Anna, and Cobden Masonic Lodge 466 AF&AM. He was a veteran of World War II...

COBDEN, Ill. -- Ralph E. Draper, 73, of Cobden died Monday, June 29, 1998, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.

He was born Aug. 28, 1924, at Delta, son of Guy and Carmen Moore Draper. He and Dorothy Trexler were married July 1, 1944.

Draper was owner of Draper's Produce. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Cobden American Legion Post 259, Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455 in Anna, and Cobden Masonic Lodge 466 AF&AM. He was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Marilyn Winn of Southaven, Miss.; a son, Steve Draper of Cobden; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son and a sister.

Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Cobden after 6 p.m. today. A Masonic service will be held at 7:30.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Danny Miller officiating. Burial will be in Cobden Cemetery, with graveside rites by VFW Post 3455 and American Legion Post 259.
