DEXTER -- Ralph Ayers, 58, of Dexter, died Sunday, Feb. 16, 1992, in Dexter Hospital. He was born March 24, 1933, at Essex, son of Lee and Odell Williams Ayers. DEXTER -- Ralph Ayers, 58, of Dexter, died Sunday, Feb. 16, 1992, in Dexter Hospital.

He was born March 24, 1933, at Essex, son of Lee and Odell Williams Ayers.

He married Joan Smith July 9, 1977, at Essex.

Survivors are his mother, of Cape Girardeau; his wife, of the home; sons, Bruce and Stanley Smith, both of Cape Girardeau, Elliott Smith and Gregory Ayers, both of Dexter, Jackie Ayers, Gainsville, Fla., and Rufus, Ayers, St. Louis; daughters, Kimberly Ayers, Dexter, and Brenda Fay Porter, Malden; brothers, Henry Ayers, Dallas, Texas, Joe Ayers and Charles Ayers, both of Cape Girardeau, Jerry Ayers, Mansfield, Texas, and Marshall Ayers, Springfield, Mo.; sisters, Hazel Ayers and Louise Colon, both of Cape Girardeau, and Adell Nelson, Chicago, Ill.; and eight grandchildren.

Friends may call at Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter from 6 to 8 tonight.

Service will be Friday at noon at Green Memorial Church in Sikeston with the Rev. L.D. Pullen of Kennett officiating. Burial will be in New Fairmont Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
